Lava Smartphone Nepal has just launched their latest budget smartphone, the Lava R1 here. The main highlight of this phone is its low light photo capabilities. Priced at Rs 13,999 here are some of the things the phone brings to the table.
The Lava R1 packs a 5 inch HD IPS display giving it a pixel density of 294PPI. The display is covered by Gorilla Glass 3 and is edged out by a 2.5D glass. The phone comes encased in a uni-body aluminum shell which looks good and feels premium in the hands. Under the hood, the phone rocks a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor coupled with the Mali T720 GPU. The processor is backed by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The internal storage can be further expanded via a micro-sd card up to 64GB. The phone also does support dual sim cards and is 4G compatible.
In the camera department, the Lava R1 sports a f/2.0 8MP rear camera with large pixel size accompanied by a LED flash. This large pixels gives the phone an edge in low light photography. The R1 also has a f/2.2 5MP front camera also accompanied by a LED flash. Software-wise, the phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Lava’s own custom skin, Star OS 3.3 layered on top of it. The R1 sadly doesn’t offer a fingerprint scanner which would have further added the value to the phone. Nonetheless, sensors like accelerometer, proximity, and compass are present here. And finally powering the device is a non-user removable 2620mAh battery. This will be more than enough to get users through a full day of heavy usage without any issues.
Overall, we are really impressed with what the Lava R1 has to offer. The phone is advertised to be a “Night shot Master” and on paper with its large 1.4µm pixel size sensor, it does seem impressive. If you want a great snapper without having to drops loads of cash, then you should definitely consider the Lava R1. We are super pumped about this phone and can’t wait to get our hands on it. And when we do, we will make sure to provide you guys with a full written review as well as a video review. For those like our Facebook page and subscribe to Phones In Nepal.
