Leagoo has been in the Nepalese smartphone industry for quite a while. But the thing is, the brand really didn’t grab my attention, at least, until now. The Leagoo P1 is the company’s cheapest Dual Camera phone and it looks impressive on the paper. And for an asking price of just Rs.7,800, the phone is undoubtedly worth a look. So, here is my impression of the Leagoo P1.
Leagoo P1 has the following features which make it stand out from the crowd:
- 5″ 720p IPS LCD Display
- Dual rear camera (8MP+5MP)
- 4000mAh battery
- 1.3GHz Quad-core MediaTek MT6580A processor
- 1GB of RAM
- 8GB Internal Storage
- 3G Connectivity
- Android 7.0 out of the box
- Leegoo OS 3.0

The Leagoo P1 is a phone that is clearly targeted to those who are looking forward to good Android experience without breaking the bank. While I can’t say the phone is buttery smooth, if you are coming from a feature phone, you won’t complain. But if you are downgrading from a phone over Rs.15,000, you can easily feel where the company cut corners.
Also, if you are feeling ‘wow’ after reading there’s a dual-camera setup at the back, don’t get too excited. For one, the images taken from it don’t look all that good. The images turn out soft and clearly lack colors. What’s more? The secondary camera doesn’t seem to work if at all. I tried covering the second lens with my finger and the viewfinder showed no difference. It goes to show that the second lens is there for nothing!
Don’t get me wrong. The Leagoo P1 isn’t a horrible phone but there are better phones out there. Add a little money and you have Colors P85 and the P85+ which are a much sensible choice. What do you think of the phone? The phone is available at all the Leagoo outlets as well as can be bought online at Daraz. Is it worth the Rs.7,800 price tag?
