OnePlus has launched a new smartphone in its lineup- the OnePlus 8T. The phone sits in-between the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro. Priced at $799 in the US, the phone is coming to Nepal after Dashain. How good is the phone? Well, let’s find out.
OnePlus 8T Specifications
- 6.55-inch Full HD+ 120Hz AMOLED Display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC
- Quad-rear camera setup (48MP+16MP+5MP+2MP)
- 16MP selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture
- 8GB of RAM
- 128GB of internal storage
- 4500mAh battery with 65W fast charging
- 2-piece battery for faster and safer charging
- Under-display optical fingerprint scanner
The OnePlus 8T has hardware that you will find in most flagship phones of 2020. However, unlike the flagship phones, you can expect to pay a lot less for this phone when it lands in Nepal. There are only two core things that are missing on this phone. First, there’s no wireless charging. When you are paying north of Rs. 80,000 for a phone, you kind of expect it to have amenities like wireless charging. Unfortunately, this phone misses out on that.
Then there’s the sub-par camera system. The camera system used in the OnePlus 8T is the same used on the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 7T. Sure, there are software changes but the photo and video quality between the phones turn out to be very similar.
The OnePlus 8T will go on sale in the US on October 23 while it will go on sale in Europe on October 20. When it comes to the launching date in Nepal, you can expect it to launch here in between Dashain and Tihar.
The expected pricing of the phone is Rs. 85,000. The higher trim 12GB/256GB model is expected to launch at Rs. 95,000.
