It’s no surprise that Xiaomi is doing really well in the Nepalese smartphone market. So, it was natural for them to bring the Xiaomi sub-brand Poco to Nepal. And surprise-surprise, it looks that that’s exactly what’s going to happen. We are expecting the brand to launch Poco phones before Tihar and in time for Daraz 11.11 sale.
On the official Poco Facebook page, we can see the GM of Xiaomi for Nepal, Mr. Sourabh Kothari, nicely dressed up on a Poco T-Shirt. After that, there’s a teaser posted on the page. All this suggests that we aren’t very far off from the launch of the Poco phones in Nepal.
Unfortunately though, after the launch of the first Xiaomi phone, the Pocophone F1, we really haven’t seen a break-through(at least in terms of pricing) phone from Poco. The new Poco phones that have been coming out lately are nothing but rebranded Xiaomi/Redmi phones.
Having said that, we are hopeful that Poco will take a new direction as it enters Nepal. We are hoping to see well-priced entry-level and mid-range phones from Poco. Are you excited about the brand making its way to Nepal? Let us know in the comments section down below.
