Samsung has officially launched the Samsung Galaxy J4. It is a smartphone targeted to Asian markets. It is first launching in Pakistan followed by India. We can expect the phone to launch in Nepal by the end of next month. The price of Samsung Galaxy J4 is still not confirmed.
Samsung Galaxy J4 sits in between the Galaxy J2 and the newly launched Galaxy J6. The phone may not feature an infinity display like the Galaxy J6 but has plenty of features for the price.

The highlight of the Samsung Galaxy J4 2018 has to be its large 5.5-inch HD display. It is the only phone in its class to feature an AMOLED Display technology. However, it would have been great if it was a Full HD panel instead of a 720p one. Nowadays, even mid-range phones are coming with Full HD Displays so there’s a slight disappointment right there.
However, for viewing media and playing games, this phone is just perfect. It is only while reading text that you see pixels in the display. And thanks to the lower resolution, the games run at a higher frame rate.
Powering this phone is a home-grown Exynos 7570 which the company seems to use in many of its entry to mid-range phones. It’s basically a Quad-Core SoC clocked at 1.4GHz. It’s got enough grunt to run all the apps and games available on the Play Store at the moment. But don’t expect it to top any charts. Also, there’s 2GB of RAM for multi-tasking- something that is common in phones of this price range.
Even though this is a fairly entry-level Samsung phone, the company has put in (and even highlighted) its multitasking feature. With this phone, you can run two apps simultaneously side-by-side. And the large 5.5″ display definitely helps in this regard.
The Galaxy J4 features 13MP camera at the rear with f/1.9 aperture and a 5MP f/2.2 aperture camera on the front. Both the cameras are equipped with LED flash. Even better, the front camera LED flash has three adjustable settings so that you don’t blow the highlight. The phone can shoot videos in up to 1080p resolution.
The phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and has Samsung features on top of it. For instance, it gets a battery saving feature, memory saving feature as well as data saving feature. In addition to it, you will also get features like “Dual Messenger” which lets you have two messenger profiles and use them under one phone.
The expected price of Samsung Galaxy J4 in Nepal is Rs.18,000.
