Samsung Galaxy Tab is Samsung’s mid-range tablet segment and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is their newest model. International Marketing Services (IMS), the official distributor of Samsung phones and tablets in Nepal has just released 4 new tablets out of which Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is really high-end.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 has nothing spectacular, I am saying it up front. Don’t expect anything premium in here. However, if you are looking for a budget tablet, this is the one for you. The key features of Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 is as follows:
- 7″ TFT LCD (not IPS) screen with resolution of 1280 x 800 (216ppi)
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU clocked @1.2GHz
- 1.5GB of RAM
- 3.5MP Rear Facing Camera (Fixed Focus)
- 1.3MP Front Facing Camera (Fixed Focus)
- SIM Card Support
- 4000mAh Non-removable Battery
- Android 4.4.2 out of the box
The price of Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 in Nepal is Rs. 31,990. You get one year warranty with the tablet. No headphone is included in the box. The tablet itself is plasticky and there is nothing premium about it. You may have noticed that I have shown hate to this tablet more than it deserves but the price is way too high which has made me not love this device.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 has 1.5GB of RAM, 512MB more than its predecessor which honestly makes a whole lot of difference. 1GB of RAM is must for any Android device and with 512MB extra this is room for multi-tasking and much more.
Is this tablet worth the price? No… You can get much better Google Nexus 7 (2nd generation) for that price. The display is better at Full HD, it has 2 GB RAM, it has better camera and the processor is better. Although it is not officially available, you can buy it from different shops in Tamrakar Complex, New Road.
