M.A.W Enterprises Pvt. Ltd, the authorized distributor of Skoda cars in Nepal will soon be launching the Skoda Karoq SUV. The Karoq will compete with the likes of Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Jeep Compass, and Tata H5 in Nepal. For those unaware, the Karoq is the indirect successor to the much-loved Skoda Yeti.
We are expecting the company to launch the Skoda Karoq before the holiday season. We aren’t entirely sure how many variants of the compact SUV will be offered but one thing for sure, it will be one of the most feature-rich SUVs in the segment.
Skoda vehicles, in general, are known to pack in a lot of features and the Karoq will be no different. You will find clever touches on the SUV everywhere.
Here are the highlight features on the upcoming Skoda Kodaq:
- 1.5L Turbo Petrol Engine with 150HP and 250Nm of Torque
- 5-Star NCAP rating
- Comes with 9-Airbags
- Front-Wheel Drive
- 50L Fuel Tank
- 215/55 R17 Alloy Wheels
- 7-Speed Dual-Clutch Gearbox
- 200mm of Ground Clearance
- 8 Speaker System
- Cruise Control
- Auto-dimming mirror
- Electric driver seat with memory function
- Full LED Fog Lught Projecters
- Full size panaromic sunroof
- Fully digital instrumental cluster
While the Karoq won’t be cheap, you can rest assured that it will be feature paccked. The interior and the exterior is larger that what you find on the Creta and Seltos. The size of the Karoq is similar to that of the Volkswagen Tiguan (not the Tiguan All Space).
With 200mm of ground clearance and a peppy 1.5L turbo-petrol engine with DCT automatic gear-box, the Karoq is city friendly. It’s not as large as the full-sized SUVs and is suited for cities such as Kathmandu.
We are definitely excited about Karoq coming to Nepal. What we are waiting to see is the pricing. If priced well, the Karoq can be a good-seller in the segment. It is clearly more feature packed than compact other mid-size SUVs such as the Toyota Corolla Cross.
