2019 has turned out to be a great year for smartphone enthusiasts. We are seeing all kinds of phones: regular design phones, notched phones, tear-drop notch phones, punch-hole notch phones and now this, a phone with a pop-up camera. The Vivo V15 Pro has launched in Nepal and the phone has a motorized pop-up camera on the top. And if that wasn’t enough, the company has also incorporated under-display fingerprint scanner on the phone. The price of Vivo V15 Pro in Nepal is Rs. 52,490.
The Vivo V15 Pro is an upper-midrange smartphone and comes with great hardware. If you are someone who wants sheer power over anything else, sure, there are other phones that offer better value but if you are not one of these people, you should definitely check out the Vivo V15 Pro.
There are four standout features of the Vivo V15 Pro worth mentioning. One is the pop-up camera which is not only fancy but also durable. The company claims that the phone will last at least 8 years while using it 100 times every day! There’s no question you will have changed the phone several times in 8 years time.
Then, there’s the under-display fingerprint scanner. There’s an optical camera underneath the display which matches the fingerprint with the registered fingerprint. It works just as well as the under-glass fingerprint scanner found on the OnePlus 6T but is slower than the fingerprint scanner found on the Samsung Galaxy S10 which uses sound waves to match the fingerprint.
Specification of Vivo V15 Pro

- Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC
- 6 GB RAM+ 128 GB Internal Storage (expandable using a Micro-SD card)
- Triple rear camera (48 MP f/1.8 + 8 MP + 5 MP f/2.4)
- 32 MP selfie camera with pop-up module
- Headphone jack
- Micro-USB with Qualcomm Quick Charge
- 3700 mAh Battery
The other feature of the Vivo V15 Pro that is worth mentioning is the front bezel-less display. The implementation is a lot better than the ones seen in other flagships. It’s also much better than the one in the iPhone XS. The V15 Pro is nearly bezel-less on all the four sides and there’s no ugly notch at sight! The display panel is good too. The company is using Samsung’s AMOLED Display and it’s definitely a good display.
Lastly, there’s the camera, or should I say cameras. The Vivo V15 Pro has a 48MP Samsung sourced camera, an 8-MP super wide-angle camera, and a third 5-MP depth-sensing camera. All combined, the phone takes really good phones. I had a chance to use the phone inside the Vivo head-office and the camera on the phone performed adequately well. The place where I took the photo wasn’t all that well-lit but still, the phone performed really good. It’s definitely going to be one of the best camera phones for the price when it hits the market.
And talking about the price, the Vivo officials stated that they were trying to bring in the phone for as little money as possible. After the reveal, we now know that the Vivo V15 Pro is priced at Rs. 52,490 in Nepal.
