Vatsal Impex, the official distributor of Xiaomi smartphone in Nepal, is here with the Xiaomi Mi 5s. The phone which is the successor to the Mi 5 brings quite a bit of improvement.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s packs a 5.1 inch Full HD IPS display with a pixel density of 428 PPI. The display is also covered by Gorilla Glass 4 giving it protection against drops and scratches. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a Quad-core Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 along with the Adreno 530 GPU. The processor is backed up 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The on-board storage just like its predecessor can’t be expanded via a Micro-SD card.
The Mi 5s sports a f/2.0 12MP rear camera with a dual tone LED flash. The phone also has a f/2.0 4MP front camera for all your selfies. The rear camera of the phone is capable of shooting 4K video while the front camera shoots videos at Full HD resolution. In the software side of things the phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Xiaomi’s own custom UI, MIUI 8 overlayed on top of it. The phone also has a fingerprint scanner embedded into its home button. If it is anything like that of the Mi5 then its accuracy should be pretty good if not better.
And finally powering the device all up is a 3200mAh non-user removable battery. This should be more than enough to get users through a full day of moderate to heavy usage. The phone also has USB Type-C connector and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. And yes, the phone does have a headphone jack and supports the new 4G in Nepal.
The phone from today (Jan 3) is available for pre-book for a price of Rs 45,999 until the 7th of January. After that, the phone will cost a staggering amount of Rs 49,999. So if you are in the market for the latest and greatest from Xiaomi, this might very well be your best bargain. You can buy the phone online from Xiaomi Nepal’s official website or visit one of their many retail stores or showrooms. Note that the Mi 5s as of right now is only available in gold color.
