The phone is priced at Rs. 8,999 and it’s undoubtedly the best phone you can get for under Rs. 10,000. How good is it? Well, let’s find out.
The Xiaomi Redmi Go comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC with 1GB of RAM onboard. And while the amount of RAM may put off many people immediately, here’s the thing you got to know.
Unlike most of the Xiaomi phones which runs on the company’s custom Android OS with MIUI skin on top, the Redmi Go runs on Android Go OS which uses significantly fewer resources and can comfortably run on phones with a low specification. As such, you should have no problem using the Redmi Go smoothly.

The Redmi Go has a 5-inch HD (720p) display which is adequately sharp for regular usage. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC which is sometimes seen being used in phones that is twice the price. The internal storage is limited to 8GB but the phone features a dedicated Micro-SD card slot using which you can expand the storage up to 128GB.
Talking about the cameras, the phone has got two- one on either side of the phone. The rear camera uses an 8MP sensor which sits behind an f/2.0 lens. The phone is capable of recording 1080p Full HD videos. On the front, there’s a 5MP camera which should be able to take decent selfies. The aperture of the front lens is f/2.2.
Again, the price of the Xiaomi Redmi Go in Nepal is Rs. 8,999. There are few phones that can compete with this phone at this price range. Props to Mi Nepal for launching this phone for such a low price. The Redmi Go is available in other countries for around $89 and it was a surprise to us when Mi Nepal launched the phone for just Rs. 8,999. The Redmi Go is available throughout the 200+ offline stores and will be available on Daraz starting 3rd of March.
